Fishing in the Otter Tail Lakes Area
Ken's Tackle Fishing Report
5/27/10:
Bass
Opener is Expected to Be Active
Another successful week of fishing in the Otter Tail
Lake area.
The Wild 104.1 two day tournament was held last Friday
and Saturday. The winning team was Olson/Stetz, who
collected their 12 fish for a total weight of 37 pounds.
Excellent fishing for all teams.
The walleye bite has really picked up from earlier in
the week. Shiners are still the bait of choice, fishing
in 15 to 20 feet of water.
Crappies and sunfish are going well in 4 to 6 feet of
water.
Bass opener is this weekend and most lakes in the area
should be good lakes for the catch. Use a buzz bait
presentation and watch them come crashing after your
lure. Bass have been active and we are expecting a
better than average opener.
Muskie opener is June 5, and that should bring folks to
Battle Lake for a fun time.
Upcoming tournaments on Otter Tail Lake:
June 13th - Lake Country Sportsmen - 218-495-2226
June 18 & 19 - Scott's Bait - 218-385-3390
